Soft-track

In India, driving licenses for all types of vehicles, including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, LMVs, and HMVs, are issued according to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1989. According to this act, every driver is expected to undergo stringent testing procedures before a valid license can be issued. However, due to the continuous increase in applicants year after year and the lack of sufficient manpower in the department, the backlog has been increasing drastically. As a result, transport departments across India conduct basic tests nominally and issue licenses. At the same time, the annual accident rate is increasing drastically due to poor driving standards. This situation has forced the government to automate the entire driving test procedure to reduce the backlog while applying stringent testing procedures.

'Soft-track', an Indian-developed and patented video sensor-based advanced technology addresses this challenge. This technology automates driving test analysis and eliminates all the bottlenecks of the existing manual-based testing procedures. This technology was successfully tested and implemented in various State Transport Departments.
